Erik Karlsson undergoes surgery for his injured foot
The expected recovery time is around four months
The captain of the Ottawa Senators, Erik Karlsson, underwent surgery today to repair torn tendons in his left foot.
It was no secret Karlsson was injured during the playoffs, stating publicly he’d been playing through two microfractures in his foot. An MRI later found that he would require surgery, which will set him back approximately four months.
Teammate Derick Brassard also had to have surgery recently to repair a torn labrum, contrary to Pierre Dorion’s initial statement saying nobody would have to go that length. Dorion is still “hopeful” that both will be ready in time for training camp in September.
