Alfie to Retire in Ottawa
Alfredsson is set to return to the nation's capital for the December 4th game against the Islanders.
Let the rain wash away all the pain of yesterday
I know my kingdom awaits and they've forgiven my mistakes
I'm coming home, I'm coming home
Tell the world that I'm coming
- Skylar Grey, on the song Coming Home by Diddy
Daniel Alfredsson recently dropped this bomb on Twitter:
Coming to Ottawa with the family on Dec. 4th. Looking forward to see everybody!#HappyThanksgivinghttps://twitter.com/hashtag/HappyThanksgiving?src=hash">#HappyThanksgiving> #drycake?

Needless to say, all of Sens Twitter quickly exploded afterward. The news, in case you didn't get it completely, is that Alfie will return to Ottawa for the game on Thursday, December 4th against the New York Islanders. The fact that Alfie might become a Senator on the 4th so he can retire with his team of 17 years was the worst-kept secret of the weekend. However, everything seems a lot more official when it comes from Alfredsson's own Twitter account.
If you want to revisit some of the highlights of his career in Ottawa (and likely cry like a baby), check out this moving montage on Sens TV, set to the music quoted above.
PS. Anyone know what #drycake means?
