Belleville Senators Prospect Update - December 3rd
They won more than they lost. What a novel concept!
Prospects and veterans alike have contributed to the Belleville Senators being a strong team this season, including a 3-2-0 stretch over the past two weeks. Still, there hasn't been a ton of standouts individually. It's kind of the opposite of the A-Team, to be honest. Mostly 'cuz these guys are, you know. Winning.

Notable Performances:
Angus Crookshank
Crookshank enjoyed a 3-game point streak last week to bring his total to 9 goals and 3 assists in 17 games, which is tied for 3rd on the team. With a key player in Matthew Highmore back from injury, we could see the offensive group as a whole continue to improve their numbers as the season goes on.
Cole Reinhardt
It didn't take long for the 2020 6th-rounder to earn another call-up to the nation's capital. After adding two more points to his new AHL total of 14 in 11 games, Reinhardt scored his first career NHL goal in a 4-3 win over the Calgary Flames last Monday. Depending on how he continues to play, he could stick around for the season, but a berth at the AHL All-Star Game wouldn't be the worst consolation prize.
Stephen Halliday
Ottawa's latest late bloomer did a bit of damage in Bridgeport β like Crookshank, he also notched a point in each of the past three games, and now has 8 points in 17 games. Not a great total considering his AHL dominance in the final stages of 2023-24 and a cautionary tale of small sample sizes. That said, he's still tied for 5th on the team in scoring, so relatively speaking, he's contributing to team offense more than most.
Leevi Merilainen
I don't know how to write about goalies. He got a shutout on Saturday. Yay!
