BSens Lose 6th In A Row
Team has problems that aren’t going away as they lose 4-0 in Bridgeport
Another game, another peg goes to the loss column as the Binghamton Senators are shutout by a score of 4-0 to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Saturday at Webster Bank Arena. Sens starter Matt O’Connor continues to face his demons as he just can’t string enough good performances along as he is just 2-7-1 on the season.
Although the shorthanded defense might have played a role to his recent struggles, this team has some problems.
What are they? Besides not being able to score goals, the power play has been lousy, there is no chemistry and if there is, it’s not apparent on the ice as it looks like the club is just going through the motions. They are thin all around and very little is available down the pipe line.
There is just too many ECHL players on this team. They are shorthanded and have played like that for the majority of the season. I don’t know if anyone is directly to blame as granted, there are always injuries to fill up top, but there is zero depth in this organization to cover for the call-ups. None.
Tonight’s line-up consisted of four players called up from Wichita. There were three players on AHL contracts. One player, that is a veteran, sat the majority of the night because he’s just about shot. There’s a veteran defenseman that has logged so many minutes he’s having a major meltdown and no one on this team is having any fun.
Why? Because losing sucks. Plain and simple.
Fans are just as frustrated as their beloved BSens are heading down the same path that they seen over, and over, and over again. Hell I’m frustrated too because it’s difficult to try to find some positives when doing these recaps, when there are none. There was absolutely nothing to take from tonight’s garbage that is positive. Not one.
Is it the coaching? Is it some problems in the locker room? Lack of communication? Is it the systems in place? Or is it they just don’t give a shit anymore. Who knows, I don’t have the answers. At least for the love of God entertain us with an occasional fight here and there so it gives us something to cheer about.
I’m sorry. This is not normal behavior from myself, but I’m pretty pissed off that my team, the one I have been loyal for it’s entirety, is regressing back to the late 2000’s when we were just simply dreadful. My rival teams are constantly posting up winning records year after year and I have to settle for another losing season. It’s not fun. It never is when your in a season long rut. I’m sick and tired of losing. 5 lousy wins.
I’ll get off my soapbox now. I feel better. Sorta.
Oh yeah, Bridgeport scored four goals, two were from Travis St. Denis, Tanner Fritz scored one for his sixth of the season and Bracken Kearns added one in the third. Sound Tigers’ goaltender Stephon Williams stopped all 37 Senator shots for his first shutout of the season. That’s my recap in a nutshell.
