Clark Bishop Extended for Another Year
Bishop will spend time between Ottawa and Belleville next season
The Ottawa Senators are in contract extensions season! While we await the big extension, the Senators have signed soon to be UFA Clark Bishop to a one-year, two-way contract with a $800,000 NHL value and a $200,000 AHL salary. Clark Bishop was a Carolina Hurricanes fifth round pick in the 2014 draft.

The young center was brought in from the Hurricanes in exchange for defenseman Max Lajoie. He was immediately sent to the Belleville Senators where he played 7 games until he was promoted to the NHL taxi squad. He made his Senators debut March 12th against the Edmonton Oilers and finished the season with a 13 games played with a total of 3 assists on the season.
While we only have small sample size of what he can do, he has shown he can be a serviceable addition to the young Belleville team and has the NHL experience to come in if needed. With a few Belleville players expected to fight for NHL spots next season, it’s good to secure players that can play on both teams.
Now maybe Pierre Dorion can focus on that other extension we’re all hoping to hear about.
