The Noon Number: Four
4 - Consecutive wins for the Binghamton Senators on their current streak.
Thanks to four straight wins, the B-Sens now have a 20-24-2 record, still last in the Eastern Conference but just two points behind Syracuse and Adirondack. (It's worth noting that Syracuse has four games in hand on the B-Sens, and Adirondack has two.)
Amazingly, Jim O'Brien has six points (5G, 1A) during the streak, including three straight game-winning goals. David Dziurzynski has the fourth game-winner, part of a four-point night for him (2G, 2A) against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Andre Petersson had four points, all of them goals, in two games since returning from injury. Mike Hoffman (1G, 6A) and Rob Klinkhammer (7A) each have seven points over the four-game winning streak. In the three games since he returned from Ottawa, Stéphane Da Costa has five points (1G, 4A). Corey Locke, last year's AHL MVP, has "just" five points (2G, 3A) in the winning streak.
Mike McKenna has three wins, while Robin Lehner has just one of them. Somehow, the B-Sens offence has been winning despite their opponents scoring 12 goals in those four games.
But it's a long road if the B-Sens are to have any chance of making the playoffs. They're five points out of eighth spot in the Eastern Conference, with seven teams--all of whom have games in hand--in their way. The B-Sens have just 30 games left in the regular season to make up that ground, so, while it's not over yet, it's pretty close to a done deal.
