Game 16 Hub: Ottawa Senators vs New York Islanders
Can the Sens Make It 4 In A Row?
It's been a century since we've seen the Sens last play. I mean I understand people need time to recover from a jet lag but at this point, the Sens may have had enough rest to last them the season.
The four points in Sweden were much needed, not only for the standings but for the confidence of this team. While the Sens sit in 8th in the Atlantic in points, they are 6th in points percentage. Considering the fact they've played anywhere from three to five fewer games than the majority of their division, this team could easily catch up if they play their cards right.
The dreaded month of November is not going as bad as we thought it could; with 7 out of the 9 games played the Sens are at 4-3-0. While not fantastic, we'll take the 8 points. They need to finish strong in the remaining two games. The Sens only advantage at this point is their games in hand.
The Isles are coming off a 2-game winning streak but they have been inconsistent at best this season. There's no such thing as an "easy" opponent at this point, but the Sens are about to start a heavy schedule and teams like the Islanders are beatable.
The biggest news out of Ottawa for tonight's game is that Joonas Korpisalo will not be on the bench tonight and is considered day to day. Mads Sogaard has been called as back up for Anton Forsberg who will be starting his second game in a row after a Rolex worthy performance in Sweden.

Game Notes
- The Sens need their special teams to be effective tonight. The Isles PK is vulnerable and the Sens PP has been just fine of late. It could be the difference in the game tonight.
- Forsberg needs to carry over the momentum from Sweden and make sure he's giving the team every opportunity to settle into the game.
- Tim Stützle was held off the scoresheet last game. He has yet to go two games in a row without a point so expect something from the Süperstar this evening.
- Fans have been harsh on Thomas Chabot since last season but his absence has worsened the team in almost every category. He's been skating with the team and is progressing well but is not expected to be back soon yet.
- The game tonight is at 7:30 and you can catch it on TSN5 or RDS
