Predicting a bloodbath

The Senators have two shutouts in a row but allowing 35 to 40 shots against a team with the offensive talent Dallas possesses could get ugly. Thanks to the very successful home-stand, Ottawa has built up some room for error in the standings. I am basically writing this game off and hoping for the best.

I’ll keep the trend going and say that I’d be shocked if the high-flying Stars don’t put an end to the Senators winning streak. It’s easy to pick Benn + Seguin here, but I’ll say that the Stars depth at forward will expose one of the Senators biggest quarter-season weaknesses.

First game of a road trip? Facing the team with the best record and second most goals in the NHL? That former-Senator-facing-Senators magic? Sounds like a loss to me.

Craig Anderson’s shutout streak was amazing while it lasted, but the Senators are about to run into the best offense in the league. Oh and Jason Spezza is going to score a couple. *Spezza turns to the camera* Ready for more?

The Sens goaltending stays hot and they hold off the high powered Stars offence for a nice road win with Bobby getting a pair of goals to keep his streak alive.

The Sens are able to keep the Benn-Seguin dynamic duo in check but are undone by their former captain who pots a goal and an assist

The only thing that could troll Sens fans more than Spezza getting the game-winner is Hemsky getting it

I don't see how Dallas gets less than 4 goals at least in this game, and the Stars have been one of the leagues best so far. Anything but a loss by 2+ goals would be a welcomed surprise.
