Game 25 Preview: Ottawa Senators @ Washington Capitals
Capital vs Capital
The Senators are looking to bounce back from the disappointing loss to Carolina on Sunday as the short road trip winds up in Washington. A win tonight is important to stay in the wild card hunt without needing a huge winning streak down the stretch.
MacArthur - Turris - Ryan
Michalek - Spezza - Zibanejad
Conacher - Smith - Neil
Condra - Grant - Greening
Methot - Karlsson
Phillips - Corvo
Cowen - Wiercioch
Anderson (starter)
Lehner
Some notes for tonight:
- Just a heads up, the game is on TSN2 today. Puck drop is shortly after 7pm.
- Ovi gonna Ovi.
- Martin Erat wants out of Washington, and there has been plenty of talk about if the Senators should pursue him. Could tonight be an audition? Update: Audition for eating more press box hot dogs than Kassian, maybe, since he's expected to be a healthy scratch tonight.
- Wait, the Senators have more goals the the Capitals? WTF?
- Karlsson gonna Karlsson.
- Andy has a big opportunity to challenge Lehner for #1 goalie position in the eyes (and hearts) of the fans tonight by making sure Ovi don't Ovi.
- Special teams could be killer tonight. Ottawa has a slightly better record at even strength though.
Here are some stats for the two teams this evening.
