Game 31 Hub: Ottawa Senators at Seattle Kraken

We've reached the dreaded part of the schedule - the World Juniors road trip. The Senators will be playing on the road for a little over three weeks, and it all kicks off tonight in Seattle.

The biggest news is that Anton Forsberg's minor injury that kept him out on Saturday is at least significant enough to keep him off of this first pre-Christmas leg of the road trip. That means Leevi Merilainen gets to go to Seattle and Western Canada as Linus Ullmark's backup.

Game Notes

• The Senators start today's schedule sitting in the 2nd wild card position, though they could be (temporarily) bumped out by earlier games
• The Sens need at least a decent showing from this road trip, so putting up some points early will make a difference. Every other team except Detroit (in the last game of the trip) is above .500
• A somewhat odd novelty stat - no Senator has an active point streak going. Probably a good "problem" to have
• Another novelty stat that hopefully will not still be true by the time the evening is out - the Senators have allowed exactly four goals in every game they have played in Seattle
• Linus Ullmark and his excellent play of late will definitely have something to say about that one continuing. He's got a .950 SV% in the past three weeks, which is top in the league during that stretch, and just a .912 being the worst single game out of the seven
• It's a late one for the Sens, 10pm start time on RDS and TSN5
• Not going for the full double preview this time, but it is a double hockey night for Ottawa with the Charge in Boston for a 7pm start on Amazon Prime
