Game 38 Hub: Ottawa Senators at St. Louis Blues
No time to dwell
After playing half of the first half of a back to back last night, the Ottawa Senators are right back on the ice tonight in St. Louis.
With the back to back situation there won't be a game day skate so we likely won't get lines, but expect Anton Forsberg to get his first start since going on IR in December.
On the opponent side, the Blues are pushing to get back into the playoff chase and sit four points out of the second wild card position in the West. Since switching coaches to Jim Montgomery they have a significantly better record than they did under Drew Bannister, and might pull the comeback off.
Game Notes
- The Senators looked like they were playing the second game of the back-to-back last night, with a solid start and an awful end where it looked like they just didn't have the legs. This has me slightly concerned about tonight
- The power play looked dismal again last night, after showing some flashes of hope in Minnesota and Winnipeg
- The good news is that the Blues penalty kill has been dismal, and one of the areas where they have actually gotten worse under Montgomery
- If you're scoreboard watching tonight, the Pens are one point behind Ottawa and have a 7pm start against the Panthers, while the Habs are in Chicago and are... three points back?!
- It's an 8pm start, on TSN5 and RDS2
