Game #4 Hub: Ottawa Senators vs New Jersey Devils
The Sens are in mid-season injury form, with Ullmark, Zub, and Greig all out
It will be hard for the Sens to live up to the hype of the last game. Although, I can't say we'll complain too much if the Sens decided to play a relatively quiet and sensible game tonight.
The key component last game was the lack of goaltending, you can argue on both ends but our concern is focused on the Sens. Anton Forsberg says last game wasn't an indication that he is a bad goalie and that bad games happen; he'll have a chance to back this statement up tonight. Even though Linus Ullmark skated for 40 minutes today, the Senators are playing it safe for now. While Travis Green had mentioned earlier that Ullmark could play against Devils, all indications point to a Forsberg/Søgaard tandem tonight.
Here's how the Sens fare next to the Devils 4 games in:
Game Notes
- Thomas Chabot gave us all a scare after a big hit but according to Travis Green, he is fine and good to play
- Artem Zub has been diagnosed with a concussion and will be out at least a week. In related news, all eyes on JBD to get his opportunity to shine.
- There is a lot of pressure on Josh Norris to prove that he is healthy and can still contribute to the team at a high level. The last game was exactly what he needed, let's hope this opens the gate on his offense.
- While last game was fun, the Sens will not be winning many games playing like this. Green was brought in for his defensive skills, the next few games will be important for him to establish a stable and sustainable system
- Hamonic has not been great (as some expected) and Kleven has left much to be desired. With Zub gone, there will be additional pressure on the goaltending to make the extra saves needed.
