Game 58 Hub: Winnipeg Jets @ Ottawa Senators
The Winnipeg Jets arrive in Ottawa on a whopping 10-game win streak, can the Senators do the improbable and reverse their skid?
The Winnipeg Jets and Ottawa Senators are headed in completely different directions. The Jets have won an incredible 10 games in a row to rise to the top of the NHL standings, while the Senators have lost four in a row and now sit out of a playoff spot. It's been a rough patch of games for the Senators as they have had key injuries to Brady Tkachuk, Josh Norris, and Shane Pinto. Can they halt the skid at home against the league's best?
Tkachuk, Norris, and Pinto all made an appearance at practice yesterday, but Tkachuk didn't stay very long and sadly none of them will be in the lineup yet again. The good news is all of them were on the ice this morning in regular jerseys for an optional skate, so you'd hope that they are all returning sooner than later. But who knows with this team when it comes to timelines for injuries.
Here are the Jets lines tonight:

No changes to the #NHLJets line rushes:
Connor-Scheifele-Vilardi
Ehlers-Namestnikov-Perfetti
Niederreiter-Lowry-Appleton
Gustafsson-Kupari-Iafallo
Morrissey-DeMelo
Samberg-Pionk
Stanley-Miller
Heinola-Fleury
As for the Senators lines, there haven't been any indications as to what they will be yet beyond Jan Jeník playing centre and them having to go with 11 forwards and 7 defenseman again.
Game Notes:
- The Senators recalled Angus Crookshank and Jan Jeník. Crookshank has 33 points (and 18 goals) in 48 games for the Belleville Senators and this will be his first game in Ottawa this season. For a team starved for offense, I'm glad he's finally getting called up. Jeník has 13 points in 30 games for the B-Sens and suited up for one game in Ottawa earlier this season.
- Not only have the Jets won ten in a row, but their last two wins also came despite trailing in the final minute of both of them. They're the first team in NHL history to do so.
- The Senators are now two points behind the Columbus Blue Jackets with a game in hand for the final playoff spot, and four back of the Detroit Red Wings with a game in hand. Winnipeg is a very good team, but they desperately need to get back in the win column.
- Linus Ullmark will be in net tonight, looking for a bounce-back after allowing five goals on Saturday.
- Mark Scheifele comes into tonight's game with eleven points in eight games. It's incredible that his 65 points in 58 games were left off Team Canada's roster.
- After having a pretty quiet January, Tim Stützle is riding a nine-game point streak with three goals and ten assists, which hasn't been talked about much. He and Jake Sanderson were the only noticeable players on Saturday, which is not nearly good enough to win.
