Mark Borowiecki Likely Out for the Season

Injury from the Tampa game a torn MCL

In an update while speaking with the media this morning, Mark Borowiecki confirmed that the injury he sustained in his first shift of Thursday's game against the lightning was a torn MCL in his right knee. Despite the seriousness of this injury, he was expecting worse and said it didn't turn out to be as bad as he and the team had initially feared.

Surgery is not expected and he plans to start rehab within a few days, so it is possible that Boro may see the ice again this season in the slim chance that Ottawa makes the playoffs.

In terms of positive injury updates, Dave Cameron confirmed that Craig Anderson is travelling with the team to Carolina and Florida. This doesn't necessarily mean he'll be ready for either of those games, but it's a sign that he is close.
