Max McCormick Gets Another Shot

Second recall for Mad Max as Curtis Lazar and Bobby Ryan are both out injured

The Binghamton Senators will be missing a key piece to their line-up later this afternoon when they take on the Hershey Bears as forward Max McCormick will be playing instead for Ottawa when they face the Boston Bruins at CTC. This is the second recall for McCormick this season as he fills the role for some much needed grittiness for the big club as they see how their prospects are coming along following last week's call-up of Ryan Dzingel.

McCormick had an active night in helping Binghamton win their second straight on Saturday over the Hartford Wolf Pack with a fight and some hustle while centering the checking line between Zack Stortini and Travis Ewanyk. The sixth round draft pick for Ottawa in 2011 has seven goals and three assists in 22 games in his second full season for Binghamton and has become a fan favorite bringing some light to what's become a disappointing season so far.

Once again Cole Schneider gets the snub after recording a goal and two assists in last night's win but perhaps McCormick meets the need for some toughness that Schneider otherwise lacks.

Ottawa takes on the Bruins today @ 5:00 in their first game back from the Christmas break.
