O'Connor Called Up
Goaltender Andrew Hammond hurt in today's practice.
With the injury bug continuing to hit Andrew Hammond, this time around in Sunday's practice, rookie netminder Matt O'Connor (0-5-1, 4.14 GAA, 0.859 SV%) has been called up from Binghamton on an emergency basis for the second time this season. Although the type of injury to Hammond is in question.
Hammond did take a puck off the mask today, but continued the practice. Don't know if that was it??

O'Connor's jump from the college level to the pros hasn't been an easy one for the 23 year old Toronto native as he's still in search for his first professional win. He came close in last Friday's overtime loss to Syracuse as the team gave up a two goal lead in the third, as that has been plaguing Binghamton all season long.
This leaves Binghamton with no back up for Chris Driedger as Scott Greenham is also down with an injury for Evansville. I suppose a PTO will be announced in the coming week as the BSens are off until Friday when they face the Penguins.
O'Connor first was called up during the pre-season as Hammond was out then with a groin injury and saw some action against Montreal. Ottawa Senators is set to play the Detroit Red Wings on Monday as he'll play the back-up role behind Craig Anderson.
