Open Thread: 2020 NHL Draft Lottery
Where with the Senators pick in the 2020 NHL draft?
After all the mock drafts, Tankathon simulations and prayers to the Hockey Gods, tonight we will find out where the Ottawa Senators will pick in the 2020 NHL Draft.
The Senators own the second and third best odds at winning the first overall pick, possessing their own first round pick as well as the pick of the San Jose Sharks who bottomed out two seasons after they acquired Erik Karlsson.
Attached below is a handy graphic from SensChirp, outlining the odds of each lottery outcome for the Sens. They have a 25% chance of winning the first pick, a 62.4% chance of having at least one land in the top three, and a 100% chance of picking twice in the top six!

It’s a rare occasion for a team to possess two picks this high — the last time a team held two top six picks was in 1999 when the New York Islanders held picks #1 and #5. And given the current state of the Senators franchise, the 2020 draft is shaping up to be a pivotal moment in franchise history.
When/Where to Watch
The lottery will be happening at 8:00 PM EST. You can catch the broadcast on Sportsnet or TVA Sports in Canada, and NBCSN or NHL Network in the United States.
