Senators Make Deep Cuts in Camp

The team just got a lot closer to a NHL-size roster

The Senators cut 23 players this morning, largely all assigned to Binghamton. Buddy Robinson and Michael Sdao were placed on the non-roster injured list, while Chris Carlisle, Vincent Dunn, David Dziurzynski, Chris Driedger, Ryan Dzingel, Travis Ewanyk, Scott Greenham, Alex Guptill, Ben Harpur, Danny Hobbs, Guillaume Lepine, Daultan Leveillé, Tobias Lindberg, Patrick Mullen, Ryan Penny, Chris Rumble, Troy Rutkowski, Cole Schneider, Nick Tuzzolino, Alex Wideman and Matthew Zay were all assigned to Bingo.

Dziurzynski, Mullen and Schneider being reassigned is pending waivers - they were placed on them yesterday, so we'll know at noon if they clear. (Update: they cleared)

Notable names still on the camp roster are Thomas Chabot, Fredrik Claesson, Max McCormick, Matt O'Connor, Nick Paul, Shane Prince, Matt Puempel and Chris Wideman.

Conveniently, none of the players have very far to go right away - the Binghamton Senators visit Carleton University to play an exhibition game against the Ravens tonight. They basically reassigned the full roster for that game with this move.

This was in addition to the one move yesterday, which sent Gabriel Gagne back to the Victoriaville Tigres of the QMJHL.
