That didn't take too long

The Ottawa Senators and Linus Ullmark have agreed to a four year extension with a $8.25m annual cap hit. Perhaps coincidentally, that's the same AAV his former teammate Jeremy Swayman just signed for in Boston (though for twice as long as Ullmark).

Linus Ullmark (4x8.25m with Ottawa), since he entered the league, has allowed 93G per 100xG faced. Only weaknesss appear to be a slight tendency to not seal his right post. Very difficult to screen.

Per PuckPedia, the contract has a full no move clause for the entire four years, and a salary breakdown of $7m in year one, $8m in year two, and $9m in each of the final two years. The contract is pure salary - no signing bonuses.

The timing of the extension comes as a bit of a surprise, since there didn't appear to be any urgency in getting one done right away. As recently as yesterday, Steve Staios was talking about giving Ullmark and his family time to settle in to Ottawa and Ullmark time to get comfortable with the team before serious extension talks. This felt like something that wasn't coming until at least a month or two into the season.
