Game 13: Powerplay key as Rochester bounces Binghamton

This was a nasty game. Binghamton ended the first with a 3-2 lead, lost it in the 2nd, and attempted a comeback in the third but failed to take the game back. Robin Lehner was pulled at the beginning of the third, but Barry Brust didn't fair better netting only one save off three shots.

While the game wasn't pretty for goaltenders, rising star Bobby Butler scored in his third straight game, and his linemates, Corey Locke and Colin Greenning, were both credited with the assists.

BSens Hero: Jim O'Brien
Jim O'Brien is playing like he wants to be in Ottawa's future plans. He scored the first goal of the game, and helped Erik Condra score on the powerplay in the third.

BSens Killer: Penalties
The Rochester Americans went 3 for 4 on the powerplay tonight, and Binghamton could have avoided those penalties. The penalty kill for Binghamton was fantastic before tonight, but Francis Lessard's 16 PIM, including a game misconduct, were very costly tonight.

BSens Zero: Barry Brust
Brust played 18 minutes and had only one save in three shots. That's a .333 save percentage and a 6.67 GAA.

Game 14: Binghamton beats East Division leading Scranton

Great win for Binghamton tonight against Scranton. Binghamton was able to hold the B-Pens to only one goal, handing them their second regulation loss. Binghamton's offense was led by the AHL rookie goal leader Bobby Butler, who scored twice, and AHL leading scorer Corey Locke. Both players scored on the powerplay, played great on the kill as well, and are part of what might be the best line in the AHL.

BSens Hero: Barry Brust
Brust was perfect for two periods, and allowed only one goal in the third off a deflection from forward Chris Collins. After only having one save on Wednesday, it's good to see Brust record 29 saves.

BSens Hero: Bobby Butler
Bobby Butler has scored six goals in his last seven games. If he doesn't get at least a shot in Ottawa this season, it'll be a crying shame. Scored two goals tonight, including the GWG, and he is now tied for most goals in the AHL by a rookie. Such a bust!

BSens Hero: Corey Locke
Locke got Binghamton on the board early with a powerplay goal, and is tied for most points in the AHL. He scored two points tonight, both on the powerplay, with an assist to Bobby Butler. Apparently Locke and Butler can score on any line!

BSens Hero: PP and PK
The powerplay went 2-for-5 tonight, and the kill was a perfect 6-for-6. After being killed on the powerplay against the Americans on Wednesday, it's nice to see Binghamton work on killing the penalties.

Credit where credit is due: Roman Wick
Wick got his first pro goal tonight, and now has 3 points for season. Nice to see a bit of bounce-back, Wick.

Game 15: Binghamton marred by missed opportunities, fall to Marlies 4-3

Tough lost tonight for the Binghamton Senators, losing 4-3 in the return off popular Binghamton native Jerry D'Amigo. Binghamton had the shot advantage at 35-26 but failed to get anything past James Reimer, who stopped 32 shots. Geoff Kinrade scored his first goal of the season and Corey Locke was able to build on his AHL scoring lead with a goal.

BSens Hero: Colin Greening
The Patrick Marleau of Binghamton's top line had two points tonight to continue the BLG line point streak. With Locke and Butler getting most of the glory, don't forget about Colin Greening: The rookie so far has 10 points and is showing no signs of slowing down.

BSens Killer: Justin Hodgman
Hodgman had only one shot tonight, and that was the first goal of the game after beating Geoff Kinrade and putting the puck past Barry Brust. He would also get an assist on the game-winning goal in the third.

Game 16: Hershey thumps Binghamton, 8-3

This was an ugly game! Ugly! The first period was a painful 20 minutes to sit though, which the Hershey Bears scored six goals. With Robin Lehner sick and Mike Brodeur injured, Brust was only one that could play (Zene Kalemba was called up on a PTO). The second was better as Binghamton scored two goals on the powerplay from Jim O'Brien and Zack Smith, but the first period put Binghamton in a hole that they couldn`t get out off.

BSens Positive: Corey Locke
Locke got an assist from Derek Smith on Binghamton's final goal, which gives him a streak of a point in 10 straight games.

A -4 for top prospect tonight. He now has the worst plus/minus on the team with a -11. Ouch

ECHL

Game 12: Jackals stage comeback to defeat Stringrays at sold-out First Arena
The Jackals showed why they're the best team in the ECHL by scoring four unanswered goals to defeat the South Carolina Stingrays. The Stringrays held a 3-2 going into the third, but the ECHL's top scorer, Michael Dubuc, scored his tenth of the season early in the third, to tie the game. Ten minutes later, the Jackals got their first lead of the night off a top-shelf wrister from John de Gray. Elmira would seal the game with an empty netter from Ryan Hiller with only 4 seconds left in the game. This was the Jackals' second sellout of the season, and Elmira has lead the league in sellouts the last three years in the ECHL.

Game 13: Jackals storm back to deafeat Devils, 5-4

Another game, another comeback by the best team in the ECHL, and another sellout crowd. The Devils got on the board first with two goals from Jeremy Akeson and Matt Lombardi to give the Devils a 2-0 lead, but defensemen Patrick Coulombe was able to make the score 2-1 with a sniper shot from the blue line. In the second, the Jackals made a costly turnover on the powerplay and the Devils Trevor Kell scored shorthanded. The game wouldn't stay 3-1 for long, as Patrick Coulombe would score again to make it 3-2. Justin Donati would tie the game, and increase his lead as the ECHL's top scorer. The Devils would take the lead for the last time off a goal from Dan Charleston, and make it a 4-3 game. The third period was all Jackals. The Devils had only seven shots in the period, and no goals. Michael Dubuc scored the game-tying goal and continue his goal-scoring streak to four games--as well as scoring the tying goal in three consecutive games. Oren Eizenman would get credit for the GWG and the Jackals would take the win. Zane Kalemba stopped 19 of 23 shots in his ECHL debut, and the Jackals are currently 8-2-3.

CHL

Mark Stone leads the Brandon Wheat Kings in scoring and is tied for 12th in the WHL. Jared Cowen ranks 2nd among Spokane Chiefs defencemen in scoring, tied for 4th overall and leads the Chiefs in +/-, as well as being captain of the WHL roster in the Subway Super Series, an annual six game exhibition tournament held between Russian and Canadian junior players. Jakub Culek is tied for 10th in Rimouski Oceanic scoring.

Sweden

Markus Sorensen leads the J20 SuperElit in scoring. David Rundblad is first among Skelleftea defencemen and third in overall scoring. Jakob Silfverberg is fourth in Brynas scoring. David Rundblad and Jakob Silfverberg had been representing Sweeden in the annual Karjala Tournament, a small Tournament where the Czech Republic, Finland, Russia and Sweden participate. David Rundblad is an alternate captain, he and Silferverberg combined for no points, as Sweden finished third.

College

Louie Caporusso is second in Michigan in scoring. Derek Grant is third in Michigan State scoring. Chris Wideman is second in Miami defencemen in scoring. Bryce Aneloski got his first goal of the season on Nov. 5 vs Minnesota State. Jeff Costello got his first collegiate goal on Oct. 30 at Western Michigan. Michael Sdao scored his first goal of the season on Nov. 5 at Yale. Jeff Costello got his first collegiate goal on Oct. 30 at Western Michigan. Mark Borowiecki recorded his first goal of the season on Nov. 5 vs Colgate. Ben Blood scored his first goal of the season on Oct. 23 at Maine.

KHL

Igor Mirnov was drafted 67th overall in 2003. Ilya Zubov was drafted 98th overall in 2005.
