This was a terrible game, as you could guess from the boxscore. Hershey is a great team, but the Senators looked extremely intimated and appeared to have given up after the 3rd goal was scored. Patrick Wiercioch and the rest of defense failed to provide Robin Lehner with any support, and the offense was only Ryan Keller who scored the only goal for Binghamton.
Francis Lessard apparently broke his hand after being given a 5 minute game misconduct.

Notes:

I wasn't able to watch this game, but reading the reports on this game, the team rebounded after the 7-1 loss. Bobby Butler scored the only goal for Binghamton in the final minute of game. With that, he tied Jim O`Brien for team lead in goals, while Mike Hoffman and Roman Wick have combined for 0 points. Neither player has played to their potential yet, but once they do, the offense is sure to pick up.

Notes:

If the Binghamton Senators were going to win only one game this week, I'm happy this was the one. On national television, against the organization's chief rival at their own house. Long live the "Battle of Ontario"
The level of play here was 100 percent better than Friday. The shot selection, the smooth play, and confidence that wasn't there against Hershey showed up on Sunday. Whatever the coaching staff did on Sunday to get these guys in the game, it worked.
With David Hale heading to Ottawa, Eric Gryba is going to get more playing time. Which is good, because his play in today's game was very rusty.
Nazem Kadri isn't making any friends in Binghamton, and the officials didn't help by not calling any penalties on both hits from him and by Hale against the boards.

I didn't watch this game (I don't think ECHL games are even on TV) but this is what you want to do in a season opener. Yannick Tifu scored 4 points in this game (1G/3A), John de Gray finished the game with a +5. The Jackals had 44 shots in this game. Their opponents had only 16./

Notes:

Michael Dubuc scored all four of Binghamton's goals, tying a team record. He's off to a fantastic start, and was named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week. Not bad for a guy who was acquired right before camp.
Elmira held a 4-2 lead into the third, but wasn't able to score on a 5-on-3 power play advantage. Cincinnati was able to get back into the game after a redirected goal and a game tying goal with minutes left in the third. To end the game on a sour note, Barret Ehgoetz banked the puck into the goal from behind the net off of goaltender Marco Cousineau to end the game.
