Ottawa Senators select C Quentin Shore

With their sixth-round selection (168th overall) the Senators have selected centre Quentin Shore.

An American playing for USA Juniors and the University of Denver, this was Shore's second year of draft eligibility. Shore is a centre with some size (6'2") and hockey pedigree. He is the third of three brothers to play for the University of Denver.

What kind of player is Shore? Here's Hockey's Future's analysis:

Shore is a two-way forward with decent size who doesn't really have one standout area of his game. He does have a knack for scoring big goals, although he is not a highly skilled offensive player. Shore does pay attention to the defensive side of the game, but would need to bulk up some to handle the bigger bodies at the pro level.

Obviously a project at this time, Shore will have a chance to develop slowly at the University of Denver.
