With the 104th pick in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft, the Ottawa Senators have selected Lucas Ellinas. Ellinas played the 2023-24 season with the Kitchener Rangers where he posted 33 points in 67 games. The Toronto native measures in at 6'2, 198 lbs and plays left wing. His offensive numbers won't jump off the page, but the scouting report is that he has a solid shot and decent puck skills.

From the Elite Prospect write-up:

His shot and work rate are Ellinas’ standout elements. He adjusts to tricky passes to fire instantly and fires powerful quick-release wristers off the rush. Then, he collides with opponents and sprints back into the play to regain possession. He’s also a confident puckhandler, most visible when he’s pulling pucks off the wall to escape the cycle

Ellinas has had some struggles with a shoulder injury, but now that he's healthy he should be expected to eventually compete for a bottom-six role with the Sens. He was ranked 118th by Elite Prospects and 116th by McKeen's, so he constitutes a bit more of a conventional pick than Eliasson.

Welcome to Ottawa, Lucas!
