Ottawa Senators Sign Drake Batherson to Six-Year Contract
The deal carries a cap hit of $4.975 million until the end of the 2026-27 season.

This morning, the Ottawa Senators announced the signing of RFA Drake Batherson to a six-year contract, which carries an average annual value of $4.975 million. A fourth-round pick from the 2017 NHL Draft, Batherson broke out last season with 17 goals and 17 assists in 54 games, cementing himself as a key cog in Ottawa’s growing core of young talent.

Locking up Batherson at a bargain price through the end of the 2026-27 season gives Ottawa a clear window in which they’ll hope to be a perennial playoff team. According to Full Press Hockey, the deal is back-loaded, paying Batherson $2.5M this upcoming season.
