Ottawa Senators Unveil New Logo
New jerseys coming at the draft
The long-awaited Ottawa Senators rebrand is finally underway.
As first reported by Brandon Plant of SENS TALK last night, the Ottawa Senators have officially revealed their new primary logo, harkening back to that of the mid-90’s, that was phased out in 2007.

While strikingly similar to the Sens’ vintage look, the trim on the Senturion’s cape is now gold, rather than red. The logo goes with a new set of uniforms, reported by The Athletic’s Hailey Salvian to feature a black home set - again similar to the 90’s look - that will all be revealed on October 6th, when the first round of the NHL Entry Draft commences.
For fans of the Senators, the change is long overdue. The “3D” set, first introduced in the summer of 2007, never really took hold among the hearts of the fanbase. In the past few years especially, there has been a vocal contingent of fans who have clamoured for the Sens to “Go with the ‘O’”, or revert back to the old 2D look.
Owner Eugene Melnyk was quoted in the release as well, stating:
“It is time for the Senators to return to our roots,” said Mr. Eugene Melnyk, owner of the Ottawa Senators. “The fans of this great franchise have high expectations. We have heard from our fans, our partners and our players, and we have listened. It is time to return to our heritage, but in a bold, new manner. The Senators have a rich history in our community, and we are ready for the next chapter to begin.”
Of note for eagle-eyed fans, was the tidbit that the Senators will not be using a secondary logo in 2021. President of Business Operations Anthony Leblanc specified that a home and away set would be revealed at the draft. Senators PR staff confirmed to Silver Seven that there would be no third jersey in 2020-2021, when reached for comment.
The first round of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, October 6th.
