PWHL Game 13 Open Thread: New York Sirens @ Ottawa Charge
The Ottawa Charge welcome the New York Sirens in a mid-season clash.
With the Ottawa Charge finally playing a game on a Sens off-night, we thought we’d open up a dedicated thread for folks to talk Charge hockey.
With the New York Sirens in town tonight, we are being treated to a matchup of the third and fourth place teams in the league. Is it ever too soon to be thinking about play-off implications? I say no.
For Ottawa, their success has hinged largely on the outstanding play of Emerance Maschmeyer. Boasting a .934 SV%, she’s been the very definition of the team’s Most Valuable Player. No skater has more than Tereza Vanišová‘a 6 points in 12 games and the team’s 24 goals is the lowest output in the league.
Meanwhile, Sarah Fillier has more than lived up to the hype in her first season of pro hockey. Her 12 points in 11 games leads the Sirens and has Fillier second in the entire league. Could the rookie be in the conversation for league MVP?
