J.L. Grightmire Market St. Arena - Dundas, OntarioTV: TSN Radio: TEAM 1200
Tonight's exhibition game takes place in the Hockeyville-winning town of Dundas, Ontario, and features a star-studded lineup on the Senators side:
Forwards: Cody Bass, Bobby Butler, Mike Hoffman, Ryan Keller, Chris Kelly, Corey Locke, Chris Neil, Peter Regin, Jarkko Ruutu, Zack Smith, Roman Wick, Jesse Winchester
Defence: Andre Benoit, Matt Carkner, Eric Gryba, David Hale, Brian Lee, Patrick Wiercioch
Goalies: Brian Elliott, Robin Lehner
Wow, Dundas must sure be glad they stuffed the ballot box now, huh?
The Sabres have a slightly more NHL-ready line-up:
Thomas Vanek - Tim Connolly - Jason Pominville
Nathan Gerbe - Rob Niedermayer - Drew Stafford
Dennis McCauley - Luke Adam - Zack Kassian
Travis Turnbull - Cody McCormick - Colin Stuart
Shaone Morrisonn - Tyler Myers
Andrej Sekera - Steve Montador
T.J. Brennan - Mike Weber
Ryan Miller
Jhonas Enroth
Looking to the line-ups tonight, it's not going out on too much of a limb to say that the Sabres have to be the favourites to win tonight. But it's preseason -- it's not necessarily about winning. Tonight's game is more about figuring out if David Hale should stay up to start the season, if Peter Regin should start out on one of the top two lines, and if Bobby Butler can make a case as a 12th or 13th forward to start the season.
Then again, it would be nice to win.
