PWHL Game Hub 22: Montreal @ Ottawa

With just three games to go in the regular season, Ottawa is looking to clinch a playoff berth. They are coming off a big shootout win over Boston on Wednesday, their first win in overtime/shootout all season. As it stands, they have 32 points in 4th place, and Boston has 29 points but with just two games remaining, Ottawa could clinch today with a regulation win, a Boston regulation loss, or any scenario where Ottawa gets one more point than Boston.

And with Montreal having already clinched a playoff spot, perhaps there will be less urgency from them. Here is how Ottawa will line up:

Game Notes:

• Despite missing three games, Marie-Philip Poulin is still leading the league with 22 points in 19 games, and she'll look to win the scoring race over Natalie Spooner (21 points) and Alex Carpenter (20 points).
• Brianne Jenner is also close to the scoring lead at 19 points in 21 games, although she'll need a strong finish to catch up to Poulin. She has an amazing six goals and three assists in her last four games though, so perhaps she can keep it going.
• Montreal could still finish 1st place, which would allow them to pick their playoff opponent, which will be fascinating to see. They have played one fewer game than Toronto though, so they need some help to get to first.
• Ottawa has won four straight games, and are 4-1-2-0 in their last seven games, earning a point at least in all of those. The perfect time for a run!
• TD Place has the PWHL Ottawa logo at centre ice now, it looks fantastic!
