*I accidentally published By the Numbers: 77 and By the Numbers: 78 out of order, oops! I goofed! Sorry.
Joe Corvo D 2013-2014
Born in Oak Park, Illinois in 1977, Corvo was drafted 83rd overall by the Los Angeles Kings in 1997. He was named top defenseman at the 1997 World Juniors and had a successful college career at Western Michigan University. Corvo made his NHL debut in the 2002-2003 season with the Kings. He signed a four-year deal with Ottawa as a free agent in 2006. He wore #7 during his first stint with the Senators. One of several players whose time in Ottawa ended tumultuously, Corvo was an offensive defenseman who was a member of Ottawa's Stanley Cup Finals run in 2007. He was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes along with Patrick Eaves for Mike Commodore and Cory Stillman on February 11, 2008. However, he would have a second run with the Senators after signing a one-year contract for $900,000 with Ottawa in 2013. Wearing #77, Corvo's 2013-2014 season wasn't successful. While he scored 10 points in 25 games with, he was often a healthy scratch. Scratched for more than two months straight, he was loaned to the Chicago Wolves of the AHL on March 5, 2014, most likely ending his career. In 10 games with the Wolves, he had a goal and four assists.
