Mise à jour alignement : Les #Sens ont cédé Filip Chlapik et Christian Wolanin à Belleville (LAH).
Chlapik appeared in three pre-season games, recording the lone goal in the home game against the Maple Leafs. He had a rough go in the faceoff circle, going only 8 for 21 - the second worst winning percentage ahead of just Logan Brown. It is possible he’s fallen victim of being AHL eligible for the short term, while others who would have to go to junior (Alex Formenton) get an extended look.
Wolanin got two games, and picked up a secondary assist in Montreal. He traveled with the team for yesterday’s game but didn’t dress, with Guy Boucher say he felt he’s seen enough of Wolanin in camp to make a decision.
This leave 26 players on the roster, meaning we can expect two to three more skaters and Mike McKenna to be cut at some point before camp is done. Boucher has mentioned the possibility of carrying eight defense, so those cuts may all forwards.
Edit: That roster does include Gaborik and Pageau, so whatever skaters are cut before the end of camp may be right back up as soon as those two can be placed on IR.
For those curious, the waiver-exempt forwards are Alex Formenton, Colin White, Brady Tkachuk, and Zack Smith (for now). The waiver-exempt defence are Thomas Chabot (not bloody likely), Christian Jaros and Max Lajoie. Everyone else would require waivers. Formenton is the only player who would have to go to Junior, while Tkachuk could go to the AHL or Junior.
