Senators Select Goaltender Jordan Hollett 183rd Overall

The Ottawa Senators have taken Jordan Hollett in the 6th round of the NHL Entry Draft.

With the 183rd selection in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, the Ottawa Senators have selected goaltender Jordan Hollett from the WHL’s Medicine Hat Tigers.

Hollett played two previous seasons with the Regina Pats as a backup goalie, improving in his second year with a 90.1 save percentage and 2.83 goals against average.

Hollett was traded by Pats head coach and general manager John Paddock in May in order for the 18-year-old to get more playing time. Pats starting goaltender Tyler Brown was the team’s No. 1 and the same will be true for next season when the organization hosts the Memorial Cup.

Hollett, a native of Langley, British Columbia, is a towering 6-foot-5 and catches with his left hand. While the Senators recently parted ways with prospect Matt O’Connor and have dealt with some poor play from all goaltenders not named Craig Anderson the past season, it was obvious the franchise was looking at selecting a man to put between the pipes.

It’s a tad difficult to find highlights of the newest Senator, but below is a game recap in which Hollett lets in a couple goals and makes a couple saves. He is in blue with full white pads.
