Senators Sign College Forward Garrett Thompson to 1-Year ELC
The Ottawa Senators have signed winger Garrett Thompson to a one-year, two-way, entry level contract. A senior with the Ferris State Bulldogs, his college career ended with a 2-1 overtime loss to North Dakota in the Midwestern Regional Final of the WCHA on Saturday. The marketing major, nicknamed "G-Torizmo" was born in 1990 and has some size (6'2" and 191 pounds).

Thompson's performance with the Bulldogs improved each year and he was an offensive leader in his senior year, as per the Sens official release:
A native of Traverse City, Mich., Thompson played in 42 games this past season, scoring a team-high 16 goals and adding 16 assists to tie for the team lead with 32 points. Thompson, one of the team’s assistant captains, also recorded 42 penalty minutes. In four years with the Bulldogs, the 24-year-old recorded 87 points (42 goals, 45 assists) over 139 games.
