Sens Draft Gabriel Eliasson 39th Overall
He's very tall!
With their first pick of day 2 of the NHL draft, the Sens opted for another big defenseman, this one from Sweden.
Eliasson wasn't in any of Silver Seven's draft previews, so this comes as a bit of a surprise, but it's not hard to see why the Sens selected him: he's 6'7.
Elite Prospects describes him as "a towering defenceman with decent skating ability and an endless lust for violence."
Gabriel Eliasson, the newest OTT prospect, is the most violent player in the draft.

Cory Pronman at The Athletic named him one of the best athletes and best competitors in the draft, but noted that his puck skills are somewhat lacking.
This has the potential to be a divisive pick. Eliasson was not projected to go that high, and there were a lot more skilled players available. It's the second round, so it doesn't matter that much, but it's still a bit disappointing to see the team still going for size and physicality over skill. It definitely seems like the Sens think they need to get bigger and meaner on the back end.
