Egor Sokolov is one of the many prospects the Senators front office added to their pipeline during the 2020 NHL Entry Draft in October. Standing tall at 6’4”, Sokolov is a big winger who, at 20 years old, is expected to join the Belleville Senators whenever the American Hockey League can resume operations.
Sokolov has spent the past three years with the Cape Breton Eagles of the QMJHL, where he has racked up 191 points in 184 games - including 46 goals and 46 assists in just 52 games this past season. He was also a member of Russia’s World Junior squad, where he contributed three goals and an assist through seven contests.
Check out some of his highlights:
Sens fans were excited to see the front office add someone with Sokolov’s scoring touch to the franchise last month but many were most excited about what Sokolov has been able to bring to the Cape Breton community outside of the rink. Talk about a great human being.
We welcomed Egor to the Sens pipeline back in October but, as the ink dries, please join us in congratulating Egor on becoming an official member of the Ottawa Senators franchise today!
