Sens select Tyler Kleven 44th overall

The Ottawa Senators traded the 59th and 64th selections in the 2020 NHL Draft with the Toronto Maple Leafs to move up and select Tyler Kleven 44th overall.

The University of North Dakota connection continued this afternoon as the Ottawa Senators selected towering defender Tyler Kleven from the US National Development Program with the 44th pick of the 2020 NHL Draft.

A native of Fargo, North Dakota, the 6’4” pivot will be joining fellow 2020 Sens selection Jake Sanderson and previous first rounder Jacob Bernard-Docker on the Fighting Hawks blue line this season. You read that correctly, the UND blue line is now 50% comprised of Senators prospects.

Kleven was briefly mentioned back in August in our USDP prospect profile. Keep an eye on our site for more about Kleven but, for now, welcome to the Senators, Tyler!
