First up it's the high flying Jets. Cliche turn of phrase? Sure, but they've also got a seven game point streak going.

Part of that success comes from Ondrej Pavelec. He's having a pretty good season overall so far, but has been spectacular during the current points streak posting a .947 SV%. Of course, there are doubts that either are sustainable. The question for Ottawa fans is just how soon will the decline be - hopefully it starts tonight.

The penalty kill has been strong. At 89.3%, it's good enough for 4th overall. They're reasonably tight defensively as well, allowing only 28 shots per game.

What isn't clicking well? The power play is running at 10.6%, 27th in the league. Shooting percentage hasn't been great, even over the winning streak it has only hit 7.6%.

The Maple Leafs are a tough team to pin down right now. They've beat Chicago, but then lost to Arizona and Colorado. They're generally playing much better than last year, sitting just barely under 50% possession at 5 on 5 close. Shots against are still not anything to write home about, but definitely improved over last year.

Kessel is only one point short of the NHL scoring lead going in to the week, with 18 points in 13 games. Tyler Bozak is almost at a point per game as well with 12 points in 13 games.

The goaltending continues to be... interesting. Jonathan Bernier is posting a slightly sub-par .916 SV% so far this season, but will probably improve over the course of the season. James Reimer is having a solid season with better numbers to date, but fans still seem to be lining up to run him out of town after any loss.

Joffrey Lupul, David Booth and Brandon Kozun are all out on IR, and of course Carter Ashton is suspended. Jake Gardiner and Daniel Winnik may both be out as well - they both left the game in Colorado, and their status is unknown just yet.

The Canucks are off to a very strong start in the standings. Their 20 points are good enough for second in the league, behind only Anaheim's 22 with a game in hand.

The Sedins are firing on all cylinders. Henrik Sedin is at 15 points, with Daniel Sedin at 14 points. Radim Vrbata rounds out the line and has 13 points in 14 games so far.

Vancouver has strong special teams, scoring at 22.4% on the power play and defending at 87.3% on the penalty kill. Possession wise, Vancouver is pretty much middle of the pack sitting at just over 50%.

This isn't a team that is winning due to goaltending, nor is it a team that is winning despite of it. Ryan Miller has provided solid if not spectacular goaltending, posting a .920 SV%.

What can we say about the Oilers that hasn't been said in the past few years? Despite having some great pieces to build around they continue to struggle year in year out. It took a trip to Buffalo for them to get their first road win of the season.

None of their offensive talent has managed a point per game pace, and they've had more D see the ice than Ottawa has. Special teams aren't helping - the power play is ranked 25th, the penalty kill 21st. Last year's bright point Ben Scrivens has struggled this season, and the fate of the team has struggled with him. Their PDO indicates they're likely the victims of some bad luck, but it isn't too far below the low end of the sustainable range.

Taylor Hall, who leads the team in scoring, is out for 2-4 weeks.
