Sens Week Ahead: Oct 25 to 31
A better week this time, okay?
It's the busiest week yet of the young season.

The Devils are off to a mixed start this season. Their eight points have them tied with Ottawa but with two extra games played the record is a not-great 3-2-2, all three of the wins coming off the start of the season. The possession numbers haven't been great (but with a few more bright spots than Ottawa so far), and the penalty kill has been downright terrible at just over 70%. The power play has made up for that somewhat though, at 26% and 8th in the league.
Off-season signing Mike Cammalleri has been working out nicely so far, with a point per game pace backed up by solid play. Adam Henrique also has a point per game pace on the go in this young season. Jaromir Jagr continues to play like he's 5-10 years younger than he actually is.
Corey Schneider has struggled at points this season, posting sub-.900 numbers against Philly, Washington and the Rangers. At other points he has excelled, with save percentages above .940 against Florida, Tampa and Dallas. He's started every game for the Devils so far this season, but the back to back (going to the shootout, no less) we might see the season debut of Scott Clemensen in Ottawa.
Jordin Tootoo is out with an injured foot.

The Blackhawks are off to a pretty strong start to the season. In six games, they've got a record of 4-1-1. The only regulation loss came in their last game against the surprising powerhouse Predators, the overtime loss was to Jonas Hiller (and a bunch of other guys, I guess).
Patrick Sharp and Brandon Saad are both setting an early point per game pace, with Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews not too far behind them.
The success is built on a strong foundation of play as well. While their season average possession numbers are skewed heavily by the games against Buffalo and Calgary, they're still firmly a positive possession team even without those two games. The Chicago power play is pretty much in the middle of the pack so far, but the penalty kill has been solid at just under 90%.
Antti Raanta has had mixed results filling in for the injured Corey Crawford - one shutout, one .889 SV% game. With the back to back it is possible that the Sens face Scott Darling in his NHL debut.
They've got one injury at the moment, Corey Crawford is day to day with an upper body injury.

Didn't we just see these guys? It kind of feels like a lifetime ago, but it was the last game the Sens played.
The Blue Jackets only had one other game this past week, a loss on Friday against Anaheim.

It's all of the Chicago games for the season in one week!
The only real difference is that this isn't a back to back from either team. Crawford may or may not be back by Thursday.
