Silver Nuggets: Case for Butler on top line; Daugavins heading to Latvia for tryout
It is currently 47 degrees with the humidex here in Toronto, and it is expected to rise to 49 later in the day. If it is going to be this disgusting, here's to a nice round 50! The 38 degrees of actual temperature is also only 0.4 degrees below the city's record of 38.4 degrees. Needless to say, I am talking the subway train to lunch.
Anyway, here are today's links:
- With Daniel Alfredsson aging, and no other realistic candidates currently on the roster, Bobby Butler is likely going to start the season on the top line. But how will he do? Here is an analysis. (The 6th Sens)
- Binghamton forward Kaspars Daugavins has signed a tryout contract with Latvian club Dinamo Riga. However, if he doesn't make the club, it is possible he returns to North America. (Press & Sun-Bulletin)
- Former Senator Chris Campoli is an unrestricted free agent after the Chicago Blackhawks walked away from his arbitration award. (TSN)
- To those who wanted Brandon Dubinsky, he has re-signed with the New York Rangers. (TSN)
