Silver Nuggets: Leclaire to start, WJC reflections
It's another game day for the Ottawa Senators, tonight they head to Washington to take on the Capitals. A couple of links heading into the game:
- Pascal Leclaire gets the start in net tonight, but there are no other changes. (Twitter)
- Prediction panel for tonight's game, including my call: Capitals 4, Senators 2. (Citizen)
- Binghamton Senators forward and enforcer Cody Bass was suspended six games for leaving the bench on Saturday against the Hershey Bears. (Sharp)
- Senators fans and brass are probably a little nervous with Jared Cowen's lacklustre performance at the World Junior Championships, but on the bright side, Andre Petersson (8G, 3A) and Jakob Silfverberg (3G, 2A) led the Swedes to a bronze medal. With Daniel Alfredsson, Erik Karlsson, and Robin Lehner as further proof, maybe we should change our drafting strategy from 'best player available' to 'best Swede available'. (Sens website)
- SenSay takes a look at some of the names who might be available to boost our defence corps. I think a lot of the names he mentions may not be available in actuality, but there's little doubt our defence is the weak spot right now. (SenSay)
