Silver Nuggets: Michalek out indefinitely, Smith and St. Pierre called up
A few roster notes of significance for today, plus some more headlines forthcoming about the rest of the news in the world of the Ottawa Senators:
- Starting off with the biggest news: Milan Michalek is out indefinitely with an undisclosed upper-body injury. The means the Senators' entire top line is now out due to injury. (Twitter)
- To try and replace him, Ottawa recalled Zack Smith and Martin St. Pierre from the Binghamton Senators. Looks like, with so much offence on IR, Clouston's going to replace some pluggers with lesser-light offensive players; Bruce 'Malkin to the Kings' Garrioch thinks Shean Donovan may take a seat Saturday night. (Sun)
- UPDATE: Also down in Bingo, the goaltending logjam has been addressed: Andy Chiodo's the odd man out, and he's been assigned to Elmira of the ECHL. That means they're running with a duo of Mike 'Not Martin' Brodeur and CHRIS HOLT! (Sharp)
- UPDATE: And tonight, Denis Hamel is going to play his 400th AHL game for Binghamton; he's also franchise leader in goals (196), assists (176), points (372), PP goals (83), SH goals (14), and game-winning goals (33). (Sharp)
- Be sure top check out SBNation's picks for the first half trophy winners. Darren and I championed the 'Daniel Alfredsson for Selke' movement, but he lost out to Pavel Datsyuk. (SBN)
