Silver Nuggets: Which is More Likely Series: Greening vs Daugavins

Welcome to day 10! We already past the number I'd planned for, but I'm really enjoying doing these, so we'll hopefully get a few more done! The Which is More Likely Senators Player Prediction Series has covered many of the Senators roster players for the upcoming season. Yesterday comeback kid Peter Regin was pitted against Ben Bishop, and many of you decided it was more likely Bishop hit a .915 SV% than it was that Regin would hit 40 points. The vote wasn't even close, yet most of the comments were in favour of Regin. If you are here to vote, please, let us know your thoughts! Like DW19, who put it best yesterday:

I like Regin as a player, but even if he stays healthy all season I don’t think he is more than a 50-50 bet to hit 40 points. He is not guaranteed to spend time on the top two lines or the power play. He couple easily play mostly on the third line and penalty kill and end up in the 25-35 point range. Regin’s career average is .35 points per game (52 in 151) which projects to around 30 points if he plays a full season.

Bishop on the other hand looked fine in the games he played last year and has a solid minor league record. Posting a .915 save percentage should be doable given the Senators improved defence corps and the fact that he will be mainly facing the leagues lesser lights. He posted .914 and .928 marks in his 2 most recent minor league seasons and .909 in his 10 games with Ottawa last year. .915 would not be that big a stretch.

Either could happen, but for me Bishop seems much more likely to hit his .915 mark than Regin is to score 40 points.

Today we look at two players who played effective roles last season for the Ottawa Senators: Colin Greening and Kaspars Daugavins. Daugavins came with much less fanfare his first season (he did not make the team out of training camp and almost returned to Latvia as a result) and Greening emerged as a solid presence in the top 6 as a rookie. Today's question is this:

Which is more likely? That Colin Greening posts a career-high in points OR that Kaspars Daugavins plays a career high in games?

Greening: As is typical for a rookie, Colin's goals and points came in bunches last season, and he battled inconsistency issues. Yet he still managed to put up 17 goals and 37 points. With more consistency, he could easily eclipse that IF he plays the majority of the year with Jason Spezza.

Daugavins: Resigned this week, will Kaspars be able to stick in the lineup with all of the players on one-way deals? Or will he need to bark from the press box?
