Silver Nuggets: Which Senators forward is the most likely to be traded?

Sadly, Dave is busy today so my reign of nuggeting terror will return for one day. Here is my question for the day. The Ottawa Senators have a lot of players. Currently they have 12 forwards on one-way deals plus Jakob Silfverberg being almost a lock to make the Ottawa team. In addition, Mika Zibanejad and Mark Stone are also contending to make the team. A similar situation played out on defence last year with the Senators having six defencemen on one-way deals plus David Rundblad and Jared Cowen. Matt Carkner was injured, but once he neared a return, the Senators traded Rundblad.

Should Zibanejad (or Stone for that matter) have an excellent camp, the Senators might have to make room for him. Paul MacLean seemed reluctant to let him leave Ottawa last season, and I feel he's probably going to stick around in the NHL this season under MacLean's guidance.

Should that happen, the Senators could initially carry two extra forwards as injuries do happen. However at some point they might have to make a decision. The easiest players to toss away would be Kaspars Daugavins or Jim O'Brien. Both players have one way deals with Daugavins at 1-year $635,000 and O'Brien having two years at $637,500 per season. All teams have players like that in spades though, so Ottawa might have to deal a player with a bit more upside. Peter Regin and Zack Smith could be candidates as well and they would generate a bit more interest. Trades happen every year and it is hard to predict who will be on the way out, but go ahead and make a prediction anyway.
