The Last GDT Ever
I'm so happy to be watching hockey with all of my friends at Silver Seven one last time
Of course you know that on Friday, the 21st of December, the dreaded Mayan Apocalypse occurs. That means tonight's game against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (It's still weird to write that) Penguins will be the last one Binghamton ever plays. Though they have a home-and-home scheduled with my hometown team, the Rochester Amerks, on Friday and Saturday, those games will obviously not be played on account of the destruction of the world.
If you haven't heard about the upcoming end of the world, I feel bad for you, because you're gonna die. This thing has been predicted by everything ever, so you really have no excuses. I, myself, have stocked up on water and Spaghetti-O's, and, no, you can't come over. And if you're wondering why this doomsday is different than all the other doomsdays we've survived, well, it's like this: The Mayan people had super accurate calendars without modern technology, and their calendars just stop on Friday. So... there's only one logical conclusion.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
Anyway, since we can't avoid the inevitable, we might as well enjoy some friggin' hockey while we can. Like I said earlier, the B-Sens take on the Penguins tonight. I hate these guys. They don't have any players you might recognize upon hearing their names--I sure didn't--but they're just two points back of Bingo in the East Division. Binghamton, meanwhile, is seven points out of the division lead behind the Syracuse Crunch, though the B-Sens have four games in hand. Too bad they don't get the opportunity to make that ground up.
Defenseman Ben Blood has been called up for this game, so we have a really rare opportunity for a "Blood from a Stone" joke tonight.
Don't miss it.
