Three Stars of the Week: Week 21
They got a win!
The standards aren’t very high for the Sens these days so exceeding them isn’t too hard. Many of fans were impressed that they didn’t get blown out by the Lightning and actually won against the Panthers. I have to say; I’m one of those people.
With all the new faces and integral personnel going, it’s been a hard week for both the players and fans. The coaching change hasn’t had time to make an impact although having Chris Kelly on the bench is resonating well with fans.
Three Stars:
- Anthony Duclair: The newcomer has yet another chance to prove himself, and so far he’s taking full advantage. He’s been showcasing his skills every single game, and with two goals to add this week, he has fans hoping for a gem here.
- Brian Gibbons: Another newcomer that people didn’t think would have much of an impact is impressing early on his Senators career. He racked 3 points in the past four games including the tying goal in last night’s win.
- Mark Borowiecki: He finally scored his first goal of the season./
Trending Up:
- Rudolfs Balcers: the youngster is working his way up to becoming a fan favourite and a player you simply can’t ignore. He scored the game-winner in the win against the Panthers to make use of whatever chance he’s getting to play in the big club.
- Chris Tierney: he’s been playing solid hockey and trying to stabilize the inexperience of the offense group that remains./
Trending Down:
- Thomas Chabot: It seems unconventional to ever put his name in this section, but he just hasn’t been himself this week. I don’t think anyone can blame him; the load is becoming too heavy to carry all by himself.
- Ben Harpur: He gets worse by the shift. I feel like there is no reason he should be playing over either of Wolanin or Jaros; you would think a new coach would realize that as well./
Who to Watch:
- If Wolanin gets the chance to play that he deserves, I think his impact will make a significant difference on the team going forward./
