- This season seems to be where Wayne Gretzky sees a few of his records shattered. Not only is Alexander Ovechkin almost certainly going to break his goal record but this week, Sidney Crosby has surpassed Gretzky to become fourth on the all-time list for points with one franchise.
- The NHL's decentralized draft format could see a change as the league is considering going back to the older format where all teams are together on the floor as more teams are asking for the older format.
- The Sens winning streak may have ended, but that does not mean their stock has stopped rising. They are 12th on the Super 16 list this week, rising from 14th last week.
- iPads are going to become an integral tool for all GMs going forward as the NHL collaborated with SAP to create an app just for management. The app, named Front Office App, is meant to help managers find all the information they need about their rosters in one place making it easier to make decisions and have a look ahead at what the team needs.
- The current CBA expires in September 2026 and it seems both sides want to make sure everything is sorted out well before this date. The league announced this week that negotiations with NHLPA will start the week of April 1st and the initial assessment seems to trend in the positive direction. For now.
