- The New York Rangers like what they see from Chris Drury. The team announced this week that they have extended the GM to a multi-year extension.
- Dominik Hasek has been very vocal about his opinion of the Ukraine war and has even advocated for not letting Alexander Ovechkin continue to compete in the NHL. This has, of course, caught the attention of Russian politicians, and he is now facing attacks and ongoing threats for speaking his mind.
- The Team Canada assault case is back in court, with the trial against the former World Juniors players taking place this week. It says the main aim of the court is to prove whether consent from the victim can be proven or not.
- The PWHL is expanding! Vancouver has been announced as the host for a new PWHL team with the hopes of a second expansion team to be announced soon.
- After 17 season, the NHL hits master is retiring. Cal Clutterback announced his retirement this week. The 37-year old played over 1,000 games between the Minnesota Wild and the New York Islanders.
- The playoffs are good for Canada's economy! With 5 out of the 7 Canadian teams making the playoffs this season, the cities are feeling the positive impacts. Bars and restaurants are enjoying the extra traffic, and fans are enjoying seeing the communities celebrate their teams all around.
- The NHL announced a new playoff partnership with Ndax, a Canadian crypto trading platform.
