- In a move welcomes by many fans, the Ottawa Senators announced yesterday the hiring of Ian Mendes as Vice President of Communications, alongside Sylvain St-Laurent as the new Director of Communications. Mendes has a long history of being a fan favourite throughout his time with TSN and the Athletic. St-Laurent has also been a trusted source for both the Sens and most recently the PWHL.
- Once a key player for the Washington Capitals, Evgeny Kuznetsov's NHL career appears to have come to an end. Following a trade to the Carolina Hurricanes and subsequent placement on waivers, the 32-year-old has opted to return home. It was officially announced yesterday that he has signed a four-year contract with SKA St. Petersburg of the KHL.
- The Staal family has to be one of the most famous hockey families in our lifetime. They all had their different journeys in the NHL but it was Eric Staal that always seemed to shine the brightest. After 18 seasons, the eldest Staal has announced his retirement.
- Aleksandor Barkov had his day with the Stanley Cup in Finland and it looked like it was a party worth attending. Focusing on including many junior players, Barkov also had some big legends join him virtually to congratulate his big feat.

- Jeff Marek's departure from Sportsnet came as a surprise to many, sparking curiosity and speculation. Given his consistently high-quality work, the decision struck many as puzzling.
