As Ary touched upon here with his latest Silver Nuggets installment, we take a closer look into each prospect he mentioned and dig a little deeper as all four could end up playing in Binghamton next season. As an option is open playing another season in the OHL, Lindberg might take his development to the next stage playing in the AHL.

As far as recent events are concerned, Lindberg assisted in the game winner scored by Anthony Cirelli 1:28 into overtime to defeat the Kelowna Rockets by a final of 2-1. The 6' 3" 215 lb. right winger finished with 7 goals and 12 assists over 21 post season games for the Generals in earning their first cup championship since 1990.

Drafted by the Ottawa Senators in round 4 (102 overall) in 2013, the soon to be 20 year old Stockholm, Sweden native will be eligible to make the leap to the pro ranks and further his development on North American ice as the natural step up after doing it all at the OHL level after limited play in two seasons overseas in the Swedish 1st Division.

He had an eye opening 32 goals and 46 helpers in 67 regular season games for the Generals along with an amazing +33 last season. Numbers not to ignore for someone adjusting to the smaller ice surface and just goes to shows, either you have it or you don't when coming over from across the pond. (Recent busts in the system being Stephane Da Costa, Andre Petersson, Peter Regin, Nikita Filatov, etc. Argue all you want, they are all gone.)

It wasn't really my choice. Ottawa said we think the OHL might be a great step for you..I wanted to sacrifice to get to the NHL, so I jumped on board..when I got to Oshawa, I didn't know a single person..but now that I've got the teammates, I don't miss home as much.

Lindberg ended up as a pick in exchange for the Ben Bishop deal that sent Cory Conacher from the Tampa Bay Lightning to Ottawa that seemed to be all forgotten but now appears to have somewhat leveled out, with the exception of Bishop who is in the the NHL finals, while Conacher ended up playing for the Utica Comets of the AHL, which in turn is playing in the Calder Cup finals against the Manchester Monarchs.

If things follow the past like fellow prospect Curtis Lazar making the leap to Ottawa after winning the Memorial Cup the previous season for the Edmonton Oil Kings of the WHL, this could turn into fruition that would be good news for Binghamton fans.

Guess we'll have to wait in see but the anticipation is real. One thing for certain is the offense that will have a new beginning with the possible addition of Lindberg as he could be aligned on the right side of either Ryan Dzingel or perhaps Max McCormick with a team otherwise loaded with left wingers.

With nothing more to prove after winning the Cup for the Generals, Lindberg should be in the starting line-up for the Binghamton Senators come this October.
