Ultimate Sens Twitter Bracket Tournament: Quarter-Finals
The great 8 according to the readers. Help decide which tweets in Sens Twitter deserve to go to the semi-finals
And then there were eight.
After the first two rounds of the Sens Twitter Bracket, 24 of the best tweets have been eliminated, and we’re getting closer to seeing who wins. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, this is a bracket tournament in order to determine the best tweet in “Sens Twitter.” Votes for the round of 32 (first round) were counted on the weekend, and Monday to Wednesday was the round of 16.
Here is how the bracket looks in the quarter finals:

Now onto the matchups:
Matchup 1: “Murray glasses” vs. “Daddy Phillips”
“Murray glasses” narrowly defeated the Zibanejad/MacLean gif, and I have to say that both of them were worthy of moving on. The funny thing about this matchup is that although Kyle Turris tweeted “Daddy Phillips,” Capital Gains is the one who made that photoshop, so he is essentially facing off against himself. Which of his creations do you like better?
Maybe if I put my Bryan Murray glasses on this game will look better pic.twitter.com/JSttIhsJ5U

@CurtisLazar95 I had @CPhillipsFour report to me monthly re: your marks! He also told me he helped you with homework: pic.twitter.com/0IVcb0AMI6

Who wins?
Murray glasses | 128 |
Daddy Phillips | 124 |
Matchup 2: “Imitating Mirtle” vs. “Take a shot for Stone”
Two friends become enemies for three days. What do Senators fans like more: taking shots at specific Maple Leafs media or taking shots at the Maple Leaf fans? Hell, Roman’s tweet also encompasses Leafs media too, so it’s hard to pick between these two. Intrigued to see what the votes look like for this matchup.
Eastern Conference Final is going to get pretty darn interesting if the Pens keep struggling. Could the Bruins, Panthers or Leafs win it?

Drinking game: do a shot every time Mark Stone does something that would result in three days of discussion if Auston Matthews did it.
— Roman (@BadNewsJays) January 18, 2017
Who wins?
Imitating Mirtle | 89 |
Take a shot for Stone | 160 |
Matchup 3: “Nailed it” vs. “Lace em up”
Two teammates going against each other is a matchup that I like. I love Marc Methot’s chirp, but then again I like everything about Mark Stone, so it would be hard to vote against him. Either way, a classic tweet from a Sens (or former Sen) player will be bowing out.

@sens_adnan remember the last time you laced up a pair of skates? Yeah me neither man.
— Marc Methot (@MarcMethot3) November 14, 2013
Who wins?
Nailed it | 143 |
Lace em up | 151 |
Matchup 4: “No rings for Matthews” vs. “Pageauuuu”
Again, Bonk’s tweet is trashing the Maple Leafs, which is a good sign that it will go far in the bracket. However, SensChirp is making fun of the Canadiens, who have been the teams bigger rivals over the past four years. A tough choice indeed...
This is the closest he'll ever get to a cup ring in Toronto. https://t.co/mEW9DqPbkC

A Habs fan wakes up in a cold sweat. In the distance, the faintest sound. A whisper, grows steadily louder..Paaageau, Pageau, Pageau, Pageau
— SensChirp (@SensChirp) March 7, 2015
Who wins?
No rings for Matthews | 90 |
Pageauuuu | 178 |
Make sure to vote! Polls close at 10:00pm EST on Sunday, and the results will be posted on my twitter (@ShackTS) and on the website on Monday morning.
