Weekly Question: What would you have given up for Leddy?
This week's question asks you to speculate on potential Ottawa assets the Senators could have offered Chicago for Nick Leddy.
The Chicago Blackhawks, in need of cap space, sent young defenseman Nick Leddy to the New York Islanders yesterday. Leddy is young, has favourable advanced stats, a Stanley Cup to his name, and is on a reasonable deal. The 23-year-old has played in every game for the past three seasons and is entering his fifth year in the NHL.
In return for Leddy, Chicago received 20-year-old defenseman Ville Pokka (34th pick, 2012), 25-year-old defenseman T.J. Brennan (31st overall, 2007, 40 NHL games), and 24-year-old goaltender Anders Nilsson (62nd overall, 2009, 23 NHL games).
